Hi. If we’ve not met yet, I’m Cathy and I’m an integrative life coach.

I’ve been coaching since 2019 and I use effective, compassionate and practical tools from coaching and therapy to help people take action and move forwards in life.

Integrative coaching combines the guiding, future-focused support of coaching with the opportunity to explore and understand the root causes and patterns that might be holding you back.

By looking at where you’ve been, where you are and where you want to be, we get to know you as the whole person you are, so you can bring about meaningful change.

*feeling stuck and unsure of what to do next
*faced with unwanted or unexpected change
*needing help to make plans
*wanting to move beyond struggling and into thriving

*live a more hopeful and fulfilling life.

I've read loads of books over the past year. Some to help me better support my clients and some to help me in my own life.

I went through my bookshelves and chose a handful of great books I've read recently. I thought you might like them too.

❤️Coward by Tim Clare: A profound, thought-provoking and tender book about anxiety and the author’s struggle to understand and overcome it. Tim's writing and humour make this book both relatable and inspiring. It’s a must-read for anyone who has ever felt held back by fear.

🩷 Perimenopause Power by Maisie Hill: A well-researched and accessible read for people who are experiencing or wanting to understand perimenopause. Maisie provides empowering, practical advice and demystifies this sometimes perplexing and difficult phase of life.

🧡Recovery: The Lost Art of Convalescence by Dr Gavin Francis. An exploration of what it means to heal, both physically and emotionally. The author combines his medical knowledge with stories of lived experience to offer a compassionate perspective on rest, resilience and recovery – with or without ongoing symptoms.

💛The Drummer and the Great Mountain by Michael Joseph Ferguson. A beautiful neuroaffirmative book about adult ADHD using a strength-based approach. It explores themes of focus, perseverance, and self-acceptance and is packed with exercises to help the reader reflect on, and work towards living a balanced and fulfilling life.

This month I’m talking about values and I’m sharing some of mine with you.

I value connection.

Connection matters to me. I need to spend time with people who love and appreciate me for who I am. I need to feel part of things that matter to me.

Connection is at the core of my work as a coach. In coaching, we see how connection can be transformative in helping people feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

In our coaching sessions we get to know each other, we listen and we reflect. I hold a space for you that's safe and judgment-free so you can be there just as you are and know that you're accepted and supported. Our coaching sessions are an environment of mutual trust, empathy, and collaboration.

When we feel connected - to ourselves, each other, or even to something greater - we can use that connection as a resource for growth, healing, and joy from which lasting change can take root and flourish.

This month I'm talking about values and sharing some of mine with you.

I value authenticity.

I've learnt how to have a voice, and to know and love who I am.

Every day I'm grateful that I get to be my perfectly imperfect self and live the life that I do.

I care deeply about helping the people I work with to cultivate their own sense of authenticity, and have the courage to exist in the world exactly as they are.

So often, we feel pressure to suppress or hide parts of ourselves to fit in or meet others' expectations.

Living authentically means we learn to embrace our complexities, our shadows, and our uniqueness. To be ourselves just as we are.

When we're authentic, we stop performing and create space for vulnerability, self-acceptance, and personal growth. We can then build the meaningful relationships and fulfilling lives we crave.

We can tune into our inner wisdom, honour our emotions, and celebrate all the qualities that make us wonderfully and beautifully who we are.

Becoming your more authentic self isn't easy, but it's infinitely rewarding.

I value autonomy. It’s not something I’ve always had.

I’ve often pushed back against systems that didn’t allow for me to ‘have a say’, take a stand or do what I thought was right. As a person with a long term health condition, I haven’t always had the power to make decisions about my body and the care I’ve received.

Autonomy matters to me.

As a coach, I believe in the power of autonomy for the people I support - the freedom for each individual to choose their own path forward. Too often, we allow external pressures and expectations to dictate the course of our lives. But it can be transformative when we make the choice to listen to our inner voice and make decisions that align with our authentic selves.

I empower the people I coach. I don't tell them what to do. I provide a supportive space for self-exploration, where people can discover their personal values and desires. From there, they can chose a path that is uniquely their own.
